This blog and site are a sandbox of sorts to highlight growth and to work on self improvement with computer science. There’s a little bit of everything here; AI, machine learning, AWS, IoT, health, and data science just to name a few.

It has been a slow burn since the pandemic. This site and the work in it were created through a stubborn refusal to just sit and watch the world burn. Freedom, liberty, and self determination are still alive and well, even in tech. The AI boom is coming down to a personal level in our daily lives. Where the balance will land as the chips are falling, between local models and cloud models, remains to be seen.

The blog layout here is meant to be simple for now to highlight projects and the use of physical and virtual assets. The power of the written word is exercised here instead of just another video to get lost in a feed.

There is a consistent joke about Skynet learning at a geometric rate, while we humans adopt a fatalistic attitude that we can not do the same for ourselves. AI enables this when used correctly. We may not learn that fast at a geometric rate, but we can learn far more than a school or job would ever let us. We can have growth, and happy cows and low electricity bills, at the same time. If a 3D printer can be used without a significant increase in our electricity bills, then so can AI. The trick is managing expectations. AI is more like an advanced search feature. We look to highlight a lot of those features and show you how to work with them locally and in the cloud both. That is the real exercise of freedom, liberty, and personal determination that we look to exude here. Social media can be a bad joke and a waste of time, along with AI, if either are misused.

This is not meant to be another talking head blog. After 30 surgeries and a stroke this site was made to show what is still possible with personal freedoms. It was those same freedoms that Western doctors used to repair, and that I used through Eastern medicine to perfect. Some choose to use their freedoms and first amendment right to protest and be destructive. Those freedoms are used here to be constructive to get the job done.
